[brick] - I Want
I want
.
.
I want to be an alchemist,
go mad in the laboratory,
(tesla coils and plasma),
swoon on the reek of words
aboil in cauldrons, kettles,
transmute time to language
in pyrex tubes, petri dishes,
scribble cryptic notes
on vellum with a quill pen
(spastic twitch of feather)
.
my hair alive like
Einstein's, new words
rocketing to escape velocity
from the frayed split ends
like a sparkler on a summer night,
crackle spitsputter neverendingly,
white hot bright in an obscenely
abundant crashcade of oooohs and
aaaaaahs
.
I want to make a tea of language,
distill the liquid into a syrup,
reduce the syrup to a gruel,
bake the gruel into a cake,
crumble the cake into crumbs,
dry the crumbs into pellets,
pulverize the pellets into powder,
bleed onto the powder to make a paste,
smoke the paste in a hookah,
scrape the resin from the bowl
adjust viscosity with the oils of my skin
fill a pen with the liquid,
to write the perfect letter
to you.
.
.
