Endarken - 11th September

a bright sky
thousands of lives
in the hum and glare
of flourescent light
thousands of souls
for millions of holes
left in millions of hearts
as thousands of souls depart.

we'll fight, for this day's crime,
this invasion of our peace, in a time,
where war is as foreign as those who
orchestrated this fright, this
invasion of our normal life.

we will win.
we'll conquer this sin,
and vindicate our kin.
for the truth that can't be forgot,
the people trapped in those little dots,
hurtling towards the most populous spots.
dark shadows against bright sky,
did not deserve to die.
they did not ask to defeat the greatest lie -
the fanaticism we cannot deny -

our people were cheated, out of the chance at years
where they could have done good for the world,
supported their peers,
in working for the peace, that was invaded,
this 11th September, our faith in humanity faded,
the burial plots of the doomed are shaded
by the knowledge that it could have been our fathers,
our mothers; our sisters, our brothers, our
children, our friends, or even you or I,
that fate chose to die.

they did not ask to die to defeat the greatest
lie - that they got what they deserved.
while others dance in the streets, we drag our
feet through ash and dust covered blocks, once
neat and wonder, whom it is we must defeat.
