prosecutor to prove it 
beyond a reasonable doubt.

I already knew what it was like
to have your love 
or go without.

Now you propose and I
suppose it's what I always 
wanted, just not like this.

To memorialise your fleeting
weaknesses, with an "I will" 
and a kiss.

A ring, forever engraved
on my memory; the betrayal 
always evident in the
guilt, with which you 
make love to me.

I scream it from the rafters,
for it helps me to believe -
Just like you were doing when I 
couldn't conceive the cause 
of the frown, the displeasure, 
the dissatisfaction, playing 
itself out in front of me.

Now I know but you don't know;
I'm no Hilary Clinton.

I don't need a stained dress to 
know you didn't pass the test.
